Welcome to Oak Class!

Welcome to Oak Class! The children have made a great start to the new academic year in September 2021 and should all be so proud of themselves. Once lock down is over myself and Mrs Lawrenson will continue to work with the children in Oak Class, as well as Mrs Prescot who will be in class each Monday. We are still able to enjoy our weekly visits to Scarisbrick Woods, where we will be embedding the Forest Schools Ethos into our curriculum.

Useful information:

Home Reading:
Reading books will be sent out on a Friday and can be changed on a weekly basis. We encourage the children to read daily to promote their fluency, vocabulary and comprehnsion skills.

PE:
PE this half term will take place on Monday and Wednesday. Children should come to school dressed in the suggested relaxed uniform ready to participate.

Forest Schools:
Forest Schools visits will take place every Thursday during Autumn 1, Spring 1 and Summer 1 Terms. Children will require a packed lunch (unless Free School Meals) wellies, and a warm, waterproof coat.

Home Learning:
Homework will be set weekly on a Friday via our school website and should be completed no later than Tuesday. Homework will consist of activity that will follow on from either our English and Maths work in class.

Times Tables Rockstars
Your child should have received their login details for TTRS, which is a fantastic way to aid their times table knowledge. There's even the option to play against each other or challenge your teacher too. Follow the link at: https://ttrockstars.com/login

Should you need to contact me please do not hesitiate to get in touch via the school office and I will return your call or email as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to a brilliant year ahead,

Mrs Zaim!
