Ms Whiteside

School to reopen to all pupils Monday 8th March

Welcome back to all of Willow Class!

We are so glad that School can fully open to all near the end of this Spring Term. Myself and Mrs.Wilson will continue to work with the children in Willow Class, as well as Mrs.Tjaveondja who will be in class each Monday afternoon and Mrs. Prescott who will be in on Tuesdays for Music. We also have a student teacher starting with us untill the end of April. Her name is Miss. Sermon and she has been joining us for Zoom lessons so the children have begun to get to know her.

Useful information:
Home Reading:
Reading books will be sent out on a Friday and will be changed on a weekly basis. We encourage the children to read daily. Please check out my video on supporting your child read at home. Please make sure you have your child's reading record in on Fridays so we can read your comments.

PE this year will take place every Monday.  Children can wear their school PE kits all day on this day. Please make sure your child has pumps or trainers with velcro not laces (unless they can tie laces) as we want children to be as independent as possible.

Swimming: Swimming is due to start back up on 19th April, if permitted by the goverment's further opening of Lesiure Centres.  We will let you know nearer the time. Children will need a swim hat on this day.

Home Learning:
Homework for Year One and Two will be set weekly on a Friday via Teams and should be completed no later than the following Wednesday. Homework will consist of activity that will follow on from work in class that week.

TimesTables Rockstars:
KS1 children will have a login details for TTRS, which is a fantastic way to aid their times table knowledge.
Follow the link at: https://ttrockstars.com/login

Drinking and Eating:
Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school as we encourage children to drink during the school day. You can order milk for your child in Willow class via Cool Milk website (https://www.coolmilk.com/).   It is free for all children under 5 years but after their 5th birthday you will need to pay via the cool milk website for it. At the monent this service has been suspended due to Lockdown. Lancashire council provide a free piece of fruit for each child in EYFS and this is delivered directly to school.

Should you need to contact me please do not hesitiate to get in touch via the school office and I will return your call or email as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to a brilliant summer term ahead,
