Below is some class information.

School Day: School starts at 8.50am and finishes at 3.25pm. Please drop off and collect your child from Kingfishers door.

Home Reading:
Reading books will be sent out on a Thursday and will be changed on a weekly basis. We encourage you to listen to your child daily to promote their fluency, vocabularly and comprehension. Please make sure you have your child's reading record in on Thursdays so we can read your comments.

PE:
PE this year will take place every Friday.  Children will need to come in wearing their school PE kits on this day. Please make sure your child has pumps or trainers with velcro not laces (unless they can tie laces) as we want children to be as independent as possible. Please label all PE kits and school uniform, including shoes and trainers.

Swimming:  Swimming runs from February to July. Children will need a swim hat on this day please. If your child is still in nappies they will also need a swimming nappy.

Outdoor Play: At Pinfold we go out to play even if it rains. Please can children have their wellies (with names in) in school everyday and a waterproof coat. We provide children with waterproof trousers.

Home Learning:
Homework will be set weekly on a Thursday and should be completed no later than the following Tuesday. Homework will mainly consist of spelling, timetables, reading or an topic activity to follow on from what we have learnt in school that week.

Forest School:  We will be adventuring in our woodland classroom at a local wood every Tuesday for Autumn Term 1, Spring 2 and Summer 2. For further information please see our Forest school page. Children will require wellies, warm waterproof coat, waterprrof trousers (provided by school) and water bottle. If your child has ordered a school lunch this will be taken to the woods by staff, otherwise you will need to provide a packed lunch for your child. All children are to be dropped off and collected from the woods meeting point 8.50am and 3.25pm respectively.

Drinking and Eating:
Please ensure your child has a named water bottle in school as we encourage children to drink during the school day. You can order milk for your child in Willow class via Cool Milk website (https://www.coolmilk.com/).   It is free for all children under 5 years but after their 5th birthday you will need to pay via the cool milk website for it. Lancashire council provide a free piece of fruit for each child and this is delivered directly to school.

Should you need to contact me please do not hesitate to get in touch via the school office and I will return your call or email as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to a brilliant school year ahead,
Miss.Whiteside!
